Authentic pay stub
A genuine pay stub shows the employer's complete information, matches tax withholding law requirements, and carries consistent formatting from a legitimate payroll system.
- Employer name, address, and federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) are present and legible. You can verify the EIN against the IRS database.
- Employee name, address, and Social Security Number (or ITIN) appear exactly as they would on tax documents. No spelling variations.
- Gross pay is shown with clear deductions: federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare, and any applicable state or local taxes. Each line itemizes the calculation.
- Pay period dates and payment date are clearly marked. The stub covers one pay cycle (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly).
- Year-to-date totals align with the current payroll year and increase consistently with each new stub.
