Authentic W-2 Form
This is what comes directly from the employer's payroll department.
- The IRS form number 'W-2' appears in the upper left corner with the tax year printed prominently (e.g., '2024'). The form follows the official IRS layout without variation.
- Employee's Social Security Number is present in box a; employer's EIN (Employer Identification Number) is clearly visible in box b. Both are formatted consistently with leading zeros intact.
- Box 1 (Wages, tips, other compensation) and box 2 (Federal income tax withheld) are always filled in for full-year employment. The amounts are reasonable relative to the industry and position.
- The employer's name, address, and contact information match what you can independently verify through business registries or the IRS database.
- The form is printed on official paper stock (slightly textured, not glossy); copy numbers (Copy A, Copy B, Copy C) are clearly marked on the left edge. Copy A shows the red 'INSTRUCTIONS FOR FORM W-2' marking at the bottom.
